fun morning with friends

So, this morning my friend Keri (also Maely's fashion stylist) came over with her kiddos. She was bringing over some ADORABLE clothes she made for Maely. I was SO excited. She hand makes them herself. She does an awesome job. Most of Maely's wardrobe is made by Keri. We had fun playing dress up.
While we were playing dress up the older kids were too.
What a crew! They had fun.

So, Maely is starting to walk now. Well, she does the "drunk man walk". She stumbles a few steps and then drops on the floor and takes off crawling. It's so cute, but at the same time it makes me sad. Her new word this week is "don't". She will go up to her brothers and hit them with something and say "don't"! So funny! She also has found her nose.......yes, she loves sticking her finger up her nose and cracks up laughing!

I will end this post with one last set of pictures.........These are the men who protect and serve their mommy! I'm so proud of them!

They are armed with drills, guns, swords, and grenades.........nothing will get past these guys!

FAMILY FUN

Wow. It's been a while since I last blogged. I've been meaning to for the past week. I'm such a slacker! haha. We have had lots of fun the past two weekends. Last weekend we took the boys to Elephant Rock. I had never been there before. It's really neat. There is lots of big rocks to climb on. Jack loved it. It was right up his ally. That boy is ALWAYS climbing and jumping on something.

Here he is pouting because his daddy will not let him jump off the "BIG GIGANTIC" rock. He wanted to really bad.

Here is Reed hiking through the trail with his gun of course. He armed Jack with a sword. They can't leave the house without there weapons.

Here is Maely giving mommy "the look". She didn't want me following her around taking her picture. She kept shaking her head no at me. lol.

This weekend we decided to pack up and go to Branson. The boys love Silver Dollar City. They went to one little shop where they dressed up in old clothes and had their pictures taken. It is soooo cute. Reed was a civil war soldier and Jack was a cowboy. They had a blast playing games and riding all the rides.

Here is Jack playing a ball toss game. He really liked it because you won something everytime. (I was annoyed by it because all they had for a prize was a cheap, ugly, green, stuffed frog. We came home with a few).

Maely enjoying some strawberry "dip n dots". (She has a big bruise on her forhead from trying to crawl up the stairs.)

We also went for a ride on some bumper boats. That was fun! It reminded me of when I used to ride on them with my parents when I was their age.

(I think Casey and Jackson were cheating!)

This little princess is wore out.

We finished off our trip today by going to the outlet mall. Woohoo! That was fun. I love the Polo store, Gymboree outlet, Gap.....I just love them all. :)

Even though I was glad to go this weekend, it sure is nice to be home.

Maely.....blogging about her fun weekend on her computer. :)

pretty day

It was a pretty day today so I decided to take advantage of it and get some shots of the kiddos outside. Maely was looking really cute so she kind of hogged the camera. That's ok though.
Here she is mad because the grass was a little yucky. (I thought it was cute even though she was suffering from the mean pokey grass)

REALITY BYTES

HERE GOES! *cringe* Here is my "reality bytes" Tuesday edition......MY FRIDGE!

.....here you will see some "somewhat" healthy stuff.....but don't be fooled. I eat lots of junk....that stuff is just hidden in my cabinets.

yes we have some good ol' times at the Beis house.....Just kidding. A friend of ours who had a bar came over one day and stocked are cabinets and fridge with lots of goodies. I don't really use much of this except for the wild turkey to cook with and of course all you coffee drinkers should know...YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR MORNING COFFEE WITHOUT A LIL BAILEY'S IN IT!
So, this is the freezer. Sorry for the not so good pic here. Falling out of are shelves we have some homemade tamales. OMG! These are yummy. No, this Martha Stewart did not make them. My husband buys them from a lil man whose wife makes them. (from scratch) YUMMO. We also have lots of lean pockets and frozen meats in there also. Sorry, Sarah, there are no muffin tops in here.....(i ate them all).
Anyways, that's a little look into my fridge. What do you have in yours?

On to other things. Reed (aka Jason) came up to me tonight and insisted that I take a picture of him and Jack dressed up. As you can see my son is loving him some Friday the 13th play time. lol! Tonight he has dressed his little brother up as Spidey. Jack has been shooting webs all weekend. They go through phases as to what they dress up as.
Last but not least my little princess. Sleeping Beauty.
She is sporting her little boy jammies. I'm really into monkey stuff right now.(YES, I KNOW, I KNOW, GYMBOREE'S NEW LINE IS OUT AND IM LOVING IT). I seen these the other day at Kohl's and I had to have them. They didn't have them in Jack's size so I just bought some for Maely because well they were so cute. She pulled the pants off so sorry no pic of them.
Ok. So I'm done blabbing for tonight. I just realized how lame my blog page is looking. If there is anyone out there with some suggestions...(eh hum, brandy?) I need some help, too.

YUMMY YUMMY GOOD FOR MY TUMMY!!

Casey and I love to cook. We usaully cook healthy stuff. Our favorite thing to grill is fish. We tried a new recipe tonight that is my favorite now. I loved it. I thought I would share it with you. Ok........BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THIS RECIPE.......You have to try it. It is really good if you like fish......

Grilled Fish Tacos

INGREDIENTS
2 cups chopped white onion, divided
3/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, divided
1/4 cup olive oil
5 tablespoons fresh lime juice, divided
3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano (preferably Mexican)
1 pound tilapia, striped bass, or sturgeon fillets (we used tilapia)
Coarse kosher salt
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon milk
Corn tortillas
2 avocados, peeled, pitted, sliced
1/2 small head of cabbage, cored, thinly sliced
Salsa Verde
Lime wedges

PREPERATION

Stir 1 cup onion, 1/4 cup cilantro, oil, 3 tablespoons lime juice, orange juice, garlic, and oregano in medium bowl. Sprinkle fish with coarse salt and pepper. Spread half of onion mixture over bottom of 11x7x2-inch glass baking dish. Arrange fish atop onion mixture. Spoon remaining onion mixture over fish. Cover and chill 30 minutes. Turn fish; cover and chill 30 minutes longer. Whisk mayonnaise, milk, and remaining 2 tablespoons lime juice in small bowl.
Brush grill grate with oil; prepare barbecue (medium-high heat). Grill fish with some marinade still clinging until just opaque in center, 3 to 5 minutes per side. Grill tortillas until slightly charred, about 10 seconds per side.
Coarsely chop fish; place on platter. Serve with lime mayonnaise, tortillas, remaining 1 cup chopped onion, remaining 1/2 cup cilantro, avocados, cabbage, Salsa Verde, and lime wedges.

We also made some mexican rice to go with it. Here is the recipe for it.

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large white onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon minced seeded serrano chiles
2 cups long-grain white rice
3 1/4 cups low-salt chicken broth
3/4 teaspoon salt

PREPERATION
Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and serrano; sauté until onion is translucent, about 9 minutes. Mix in rice; stir 2 minutes. Mix in broth and salt; bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and cook until rice is just tender and broth is absorbed, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes

"HOPPY EASTER"

Hope everyone had a Hoppy Easter. I know we sure did. It actually looks like halloween around here with ALL THE CANDY! We are so overflowing with it. Jack has been eating it non stop. He has been leaving trails of candy wrappers all over the house. (lovely) Anyways......we started off our Easter weekend by going to my grandma's Friday with some cousins to dye some eggs........
Then Saturday we went to Reed's school for an easter egg hunt. This was the only picture I could get of all three of them at once. It took me a few times........never could get all of them to look at me and smile....

Today the kids were sooo excited to see that the easter bunny was good to them and brought lots of goodies. Video games, movies, books, and of course CANDY! He left Maely an "Olivia the Pig" doll.......she said "WOW" when she seen it. That's her new word of the week "WOW". It's so cute.

I realized today how grown up Reed is. He now has a loose tooth! This is his first. He is really excited. Me.....well....not so much......it kinda makes me sad.....it means he is growing up too fast.

Well, that's all for now. Gotta get my kiddo's in bed.

my kiddos

I have to start my blog by showing you my kids. They are my world. Now.....don't be alarmed by the scary "Jason" mask Reed is wearing. I don't know why, but he is really into scary movies and dressing up as the characters. He loves dressing up and trying to scare people. Then there is Jack. Jack will dress up in whatever his big brother tells him to. This day, it was a cowboy. They have so much fun playing together.

Then there is my little princess. Maelynn Elizabeth. We call her Maely....Maelybug...Mae Mae........she has lots of nicknames. She just had her 1st birthday a couple of weeks ago. It makes me so sad that she is growing up so fast. She is a very sweet little girl. (lets hope she stays that way) haha. The past week she has been trying to walk. She will take a couple of steps and then take off crawling. So any day now we should have a little girl stumbling all over the place. I think it is so cute when they are at that stage.
